About Me: The rock ‘n’ roll bug bit me at the age of fifteen and I haven’t been able to shake it ever since. By the end of high school I was constantly expanding my interest in musical genres and eras, and developing a keen interest in film. Being There is a labor of love for me, having been an avid reader and writer about music and film ever since.
Favourite Album: Bob Dylan’s Blood On The Tracks. I discovered the record in my parents’ vinyl collection in the tenth grade. I remember sitting and listening to “Simple Twist Of Fate” while doing my math homework. The album has so much depth, even when you look at the verses of individual songs. As a whole, it’s nothing short of a masterpiece and I’ve come back to the record time and time again.
Favourite Film: The Big Lebowski by Joel & Ethan Coen. The perfect combination of clever and hysterical dialogue, quirky characters, great music, breathtaking cinematography, and an entertaining story.
Favourite Concert: Bruce Springsteen & The E-Street Band in May of 2000 at Air Canada Centre. Even at 50, Springsteen was still able to rock the house for 3 1/2 hours, playing tons of great songs with a band that hasn't failed him yet.
Favourite Book: The New York Trilogy by Paul Auster. Three separate novellas set in New York and involving writer-characters who go through strange and bizarre things.
